For the politicians our taxes are bits and bobs, small change, expense accounts completely at their disposal. A sentence there, a tiny amendment there, an addition and, like a miracle, millions of euro have materialized for the parties.
Sums of money taken from health, families, security, schools. Money that disappears into nothingness.
Bersani first in the PCI, then PDS, then DS, then PD and now the shadow-PDL is a master in the occult use of the Italians money.
In the Bersani law of 2006, there is a codicil about party newspapers. If before that, parties, in order to get financing for a newspaper, had to have a presence in parliament, after that, thanks to this codicil, it was no longer necessary.
The requirement for representation in parliament is not needed for the publishing enterprises that are newspapers or publications of a party or a political movement that on 31 December 2005 has already established their right to contributions.
Theres a party with two newspapers. Its called the PD. Bersani had ensured the contributions were secure before the merger. LUnità receives 6.5 million euro in contributions, Europa receives 3.6 million. In total thats 10.1 million in cheese with holes in for Topo Gigio. Our money, their pockets.
The codicil is bipartisan. It even covers the parties that have disappeared from Parliament. Newspapers like Mastellas il Campanile and the left-wing Rinascita and because of the coming together of Forza Italia and AN, theres il Secolo dItalia.
Soru is buying lUnità. Will he get the contributions of 6.5 million euro a year? Will are taxes make up a part of his balance sheet?
